The ARC Raiders boss is a bit of a challenge, but there's a fun way to beat her. Just jump on top, like a Giga chad and then melt his core with a Torrent, until your ammo runs out or you lose your health.
Is arc raiders blueprints safe? Not really. Is the design elegant? Does it look elegant?
If you do it correctly, it is one of the best ways to increase your Matriarch Trial scores, especially when playing solo. And in many games, you may end up topping the Damage Chart without ever having touched Deadlines.
1. Loadout What you actually need to do arc raiders rmt
The core idea behind strategy is simple.
You can get up on top, break the armor and beam the exposed center with a torrent until you turn all your magazines into trial points.
To achieve this consistently, your loadout should support two factors:
1. Sustained medium-ammo damage;
2. Ability to reach your boss and reattach yourself to him.
How Much Ammo Is Really Needed?
Here's when numbers really matter. The following are my runs.
I was able to complete multiple shots with 600 bullets of medium ammo.
I'm much more confident with 900-1100 ammo.
I could stay on the boss, or re-engage several times.
My first attempt may not be perfect, but I have plenty of ammo.
In one of the best solo runs I have ever done:
I spent about 900 bullets on my core.
That translates into approximately 8,000 Test points.
The fight can be rated a 3 star, if it is done well.
You can increase the ammo you carry or you can accept to do more core/shotgun damage rather than relying solely on Torrent.
\ 2. Pre-Fighting: When to Spawn, and how to read the Lobby
The Matriarchal attempt I have made has not been successful in one way.
Some early spawnings are not the best.
2.1 Early vs late Spawn choice
Profit. This is what you may think. In reality, you can't.
Early spawn pros
You can start by contacting the Matriarch.
You can choose the initial armor phase.
Early spawn cons
The lobby is hard to read
Do you think people will cooperate with the bosses in your company?
Or, are they merely here to hunt down players or ignore bosses?
Risky is the possibility that you could become the only employee who has committed to the boss.
How did everything click with me at the Matriarch run?
Although I did have an early spawn I realized, when I thought of consistency:
Matriarch Trials are one of the few times I would prefer to have a slightly late spawn.
See if there is anyone rushing to the boss.
Determine how aggressively the lobby is acting.
Decide if it is worth committing to a long-term, risky climb to the top.
If you have a tendency to die on the climb or the boss to other people, you should try to not rush the whole time.
\ 3. Step One: First break the top armor.
It is important to understand that the first phase of combat is not about trying to maximize your Trial Score, but about setting up a damage window.
Why Top Armor is First
My typical way of working:
1. You should reach out to your matriarch fairly early.
2. Focus on the top armor first;
3. This is not a DPS-race, but a setup stage.
Why this is important
When the top layer of armor is removed, it's not necessary to stay on your back for a long time to get good value.
When the armor is broken and you are knocked down, it is fine.
It's not necessary to waste the main damage period because you are able to re-engage at a later time when the weather conditions are more favorable.
If you continue to try and keep the HP at zero, it will eventually stop working.
You could run out of ammo at the core.
You allow players to add more time for punishment;
You usually die with 600-700 spent ammo, and half-dead enemies.
My run was one where I was in control for a really long time. I also used up a large amount of ammo. But I still ended up being in a bad position because I committed myself too early. It was good in theory, not so much in practice.
3.2 There are times when falling off is perfectly fine
Once the top of the armor is gone
If you fall when repositioning yourself or during chaos
don't panic.
This stage isn't about perfect uptime. It's about coming in at the correct moment.
In the next part, you will learn how important timing is.
\ 4. Step Two - Wait For Smoke Then Cook The Core
At a certain moment, jumping on top of the Matriarch stops being risky and inefficient. She becomes more like a training model.
The moment she starts to smoke.
4.1 Why late jumping works better
The pattern I keep seeing is:
When the Matriarch is upset with someone else she often:
Stands still more;
Less erratic movements
This is less about shaking you off.
When she's angry with you:
Moves more unpredictable
If someone pushes, throws, or pushes you away.
The constant adjustment increases your chances of falling.
This is where you want to be:
1. Let other players suffer some chip damage and aggro.
2. Wait for her to start smoking (mid-to low HP range);
3. Then, hook/jump to her and start cooking with Torrent.
How Does the Damage Phase Feel in Practice?
In my smoothest run:
When she started smoking, I jumped right on her.
Got myself positioned slightly above the edge.
Started by beaming the exposed 'core with Torrent.
Important micro details:
If the Matriarch throws you around or tilts you:
You should stay closer to edge to prevent being thrown without a chance to grab;
Snap Hook is a great tool for rehooking if you are in a fall.
During peak damage uptime
I literally had my one hand on the keyboard aiming at its core.
The other arm was drinking a cup of coffee.
I didn’t need to use the movement keys once she finally let me go.
It may sound silly, but this is what you're trying to achieve:
The only thing you have to do is not press any stupid buttons, just keep shooting.
FAQ
Q1 Is it possible to make Matriarch without Deadlines cheese, or do I trolling?
A: It's possible. If you follow these steps, you can get 3 stars without using Deadlines.
Bring enough ammunition for the medium caliber (think more than 600 instead of 900).
Your climb should be timed for the smoking stage.
Focus on the core with Torrent mags.
Is it the most secure way? No. This method is effective when it's done well.
Q2 - How safe is it to stand on top the Matriarch?
A: Surprisingly Safe compared to the ground
The Matriarch finds it difficult to directly target you;
Other ARC Units can also shoot less reliably.
The real danger comes when you land on Bastions and hostile players.
Why you should not ignore the HP of your boss just because he doesn't hit as hard.
Q3 - What happens when my lobby ignores the Matriarch completely?
Then, you must decide whether to:
You want a hard-commit single (higher level of risk, slower kill);
Or you change the game plan. (More PvP and less boss).
Try this if you're constantly seeing no boss lobbies:
Your spawning schedule;
Your early aggressiveness;
How obvious you are as a leader in the opening minutes.
Q4 Do I need to buy 900-1100 ammo in medium caliber?
A: Technically, you can do without less. However, you will still feel your limit.
I've experienced multiple runs where my ammo ran out mid-core.
When I reach 900-1100 on Trial, I can easily hit high scores.
It's because you think, "I would have killed the woman if only I had another magazine."
Q5 Is matchmaking based upon aggression confirmed?
A: I can't claim confirmation. What I can say, is:
When I played very violently for many of my games, the lobbies that I frequented felt more boss-oriented and violent.
When I was consciously peaceful for some time, I observed more lobby areas where people were willing to cooperate with the boss.
What a structured experiment should focus on is whether that's brain pattern-seeking, or system design.
Wrap-Up : The Real Lesion Behind Cheering The Matriarch
This method can be boiled down to some simple ideas.
You don't even need Deadlines for 3-star Matriarch Trials. Just use smart timing, ammo in abundance, and a torrent.
Break off the top of the armor and wait for the smoke phase to reach the core.
Try to maximize the number of Trial points you earn per magazine, rather than how long it takes you to stay in the air.
Bastions and other players will pose the greatest threat to Matriarch, not her.
If you are calm, slightly cynical (and a touch greedy), and a little bit naive, you will find that the only way to be the giga chad for the Matriarch, is not by being fearless.
You need to be disciplined and know when to move forward, when it's time to stop, and the best way to maximize every bullet fired into that glowing heart.
